Things are good overall. I missed a full assignment for one of my classes. I think I just let myself get unfocused and overwhelmed. Luckily my grades are good enough I'll survive.

It is interesting in going to lots of different meetings that everything is focused on services before prevention. It's like thinking that radiation prevents cancer. Yesterday I attended a meeting on childhood homelessness. There were service ideas thrown out, but very little on prevention.

Saw this quote and thought it was cool, "And the day came when the risk it took to remain tightly closed in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to bloom." Anais Nin

Healthy Policies Blog

New Blog to check out - Healthy Policies!

Being a 'Buelo is going great. Feeling like I will be slammed at the end of this semester.

Probably just worrying too much.

Chuyito gets to go home today. Everything is going great and his appointments are getting all set up. I am so happy and excited!!!

Also, today is World Health Day! The focus is on Urbanization which is exciting. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't figure it out until Sunday night. It would have been awesome to close Central Ave in the International District. Oh well, maybe in the future!

Still waiting to be officially a 'Buelo. I'm so proud of my kids. My daughter is doing well through her contractions and my son is doing a great job of being present. Of course my wife is being amazing through all of this.

At the hospital. My grandbaby is on the way. Very excited!

Recently watched a documentary on The Internationale. Made me tear up at the end listening to the hopes of people for real change. Much different than the hope and change we hear about today.

Yesterday I watched Capitalism: A Love Story and that ending too made me tear up. Don't know what is making me so emotional about social change. I think I'm just frustrated about the crap we put up with in society.

I know I wish that my children and grandchildren would have been born into a different world. We'll have to make the best and keep pushing for real, fundamental change.

Things are good. Not a lot of joking. An interesting critique of Cesar Chavez on Facebook. I'm hoping that the wind dies down.

Going to class tonight. Had to read two chapters of EPI yesterday.

Saw some of my good friends yesterday. MR gave me some diapers for the grandbaby. I think I'm going to enjoy this 'Buelito job.
