Been walking more. Walking the puppy after work or in the early evening is helping me with that. I think I've gained some weight and put it on my inability to say no to an offer of "let me buy you something to eat/drink" as a celebration of completing grad school.
So it's time to start getting back into the grind. There are a couple of road trips in store and a couple of big work projects. Then I'm hoping to start lifting again - I know, I know...
There are also lots of things in life to get back together. Grad school and other things took their toll yet I'm sure I can get to a better place.
I'm a Chicano activist and musician that is trying to take care of myself so I can support others. I think self care and mutual aid are important. I realize that to help others I need to be healthy, caring and strong enough to do it!
I'm also reclaiming my life as a musician for myself and my children. Music is helping me stay sane!
I've also begun writing for La Raza Unida Party at the Bernalillo County La Raza Unida blog.
"At best, being a warrior gives us an opportunity to transcend the dream of the planet, and to change our personal dream to a dream that we call heaven. Just like hell, heaven is a place that exists within our mind. It is a place of joy, a place where we are happy, where we are free to love and to be who we really are. We can reach heaven while we are alive; we don't have to wait until we die. God is always present and the kingdom of heaven is everywhere, but first we need to have the eyes and ears to see and hear that truth..."
