5/26/11

I got to repeat my Sunday workout yesterday. Not feeling much soreness. I may get a little sore again as I start moving up in weight but not much I guess. It would probably be best to get my workout in before work tomorrow.

We'll be going to a funeral so I won't have the time I thought to work on clearing space, but should have something done by Monday night for next week's workouts. I have rehearsals, but won't get a lot of practice time in. And school starts. Fitting stuff in will be a challenge.

Life has a great way of throwing curve balls. The trick is to stay patient and just keep doing what you can!

5/22/11

Our trash can is full so I didn't get to clear a lot of the garage today. I did clear enough of the weight area that I could bench, do pull downs and rows. I can also do leg extensions and curls if I want.

So today was the first time in a long time that I did bench press, rows, pull downs, dumbbell curls, triceps extensions, wrist curls and reverse wrist curls. Later this, after trash day, I'll work on clearing out some more space so I can do squats and dead-lifts. I did 3 sets of 20 reps each with the lightest weight I could, and extra sets of the wrist curls up to 100 reps.

This is exciting!!! I'll keep trying to walk and if I am going to lift much more regularly I'll probably need to keep on a schedule for massages as well. I'll probably do well to figure out acupuncture and chiropractor schedules as well. Maybe on some rotating quarterly deal.

This is good. I was planning on letting this blog go if I couldn't start to lift again soon. But with being clear of diabetes, liver problems, no growth on my spine or slipped disks it seems very safe to start lifting again. My primary care doc agrees which is great.

Been doing more walking. Practice and diet went downhill during finals. Going to keep fighting for it!

Presented on health equity and social determinants to a UNM service learning program yesterday. Sounded like it made sense to them.

Still very happy about this year's May Day!
