Orale Pues Raza!

Weighed in today, I was at 188.8, which is down about half a pound from my last check in, which is awesome if you consider being on vacation should be fattening!

In between my sets this morning I picked up dumbbells and walked around - I think the proper name for it is Farmer Carry. I got up to 55 lb dumbbells.

Bench Press -135x10; 185x4; 200x2, x2; 185x4; and ended with 135x12.
Lat Pull-down -70x10; 90x8; 100x5; 110x3. Next week I'll try to get reps out of 120.

I'm going to stick to 135, 185, and 200 for my bench and just try to get them up to sets of 10. When I last benched before vacation my collar bone area would hurt after each set. Definite strain. It was good today. I have some shoulder pain, but it doesn't seem related to lifting.

Returning Home

Lots to catch up on.

Mostly got to get back to working out and eating normal!

My car was stolen while we were gone so I'll have to get another one. Didn't make it to Las Vegas, but we will eventually. Did lots of fun stuff and had lots of good conversations. One interesting conversation was my son asking why his Nina and his Tias didn't want their kids hanging out with him. I remember my tias being the same with me, like I was the one getting their kids to smoke pot or ditch school. My cousins usually did that before hanging with me, but because I didn't hide stuff when they did it with me it was more public. Then they made it out like it happened because they started hanging out with me.

Oh well, I'm doing OK and struggling a little less than most of my cousins so who knows. Hopefully my sons gets to talk to them instead of ending up like me and not talking with my Tias very much anymore. They are hard feelings to put aside.

Anyway, I'll be driving in a few. More to come next week.

RealAge Tip and your profits!

Exercise Has Profit Potential
Taking time away from work to squeeze in some exercise? Good for you -- and your company.
That's right. The less time you spend sitting on your bottom, the better your -- and your company's -- bottom line. Here's how and why.

Fit and Confident
Researchers suspect that the boost in confidence and energy that people get from regular exercise may spill over into their careers, giving them an edge. So not only does exercising keep your weight in check, but it also may give you a better shot at reaching your personal and professional goals.

Run Up Your SalesBut it may require more than a 10-minute walk at lunchtime to be a real go-getter. In a study of entrepreneurs, the business owners that ran regularly were the ones who enjoyed personal and professional side benefits. Not the runner type? Strength training also was linked to better personal-goal progress (although pumping iron didn't affect company performance).

7/9/7

Chest n Back workout

Bench - 135 x10, 185 x5, 200 x3 -x3 -x3
Lat Pull - 80 x10, 90 x10, 100 x8, 110 x6, 120 x1.5 (tried 2)

OK, running late or I would have done rows as well.

I'll do cardio at lunch...

When a Pound Is More Than a Pound
Knees ache? Make a promise to lose 1 pound. Yes, you heard right. Just 1 pound could mean a lot to your knees. If you are overweight or obese, losing 1 pound feels more like losing 4 pounds to this all-important joint. Here's why.

Extra Weight and Your GaitWhen you carry excess weight, your gait changes to accommodate your size and help you keep your balance. Often, these gait changes involve placing a disproportionate amount of stress on already strained knees. That's why losing weight -- even as little as 1 pound -- helps give your knees a much-needed break. Losing weight can even help reduce your risk of knee osteoarthritis.

7/4/7

Today's workout. Bench Press - 135 for 10, 185 for 5, 195 for 3, 200 for 2, then four sets of 1, 195 again for 2, 185 for 4, and 135 for 10. Probably too much.

Gonna ride the bike for a few.

KEEP LIFTING!!!

Leg Ext - 155
Arm Curl - 90
Leg Curl - 85
52 Push-ups in a minute
55 Curl-ups in a minute

July 3, 07

Fueneral services are over. I'm tired from taking on some extra stuff at work plus the extra kids, plus the services. Thanks Mauricio!

But yesterday I did a great leg workout. Squats! Set of 10 at 135, Set of 5 at 225, then 5 sets of 3 at 275, and a set of 3 at 295. Then 5 sets of leg curls. 10s at 35, 35, 45, 45, and a set of 6 at 55. 3 sets of back extensions for 12 without weight.

I just got off the exercise bike, 30 minutes, and I'll probably ride again before going home.

KEEP LIFTING!!!
